Madagascar | Malagasy Pezzottaite

Pezzottaite, one of the newest gem species from Madagascar, was named after Federico Pezzotta, curator of the Gem and Mineral Museum in Milan, Italy. The lovely pink color is caused by trace amounts of manganese in the crystal. To learn more, please read this article by friend and colleague Brendan Laurs.
