A Pagoda under repair at the base of the famous Shwedagon pagoda in Yangon shelters several gold gilded Buddhas. The large 42ct spinel on the right was purchased by Edward and Bill Larson in 1993 at the Gem Emporium and sold to a US collector the following year. The 22k gold bangle, set with oval red spinels, is crafted in the typical Burmese style.
